Natyla “Nicki” McKinney

bio photo for nickiNicki is a native of Tampa, Florida. She has been an advocate for the most vulnerable populations for nearly 20 years. For many years she has worked to cultivate new professionals to hone their skills and abilities in the social services field. She is a teacher, mentor and continues to be an advocate for families.

Nicki began her career in social services working as a child protective investigator and later transitioned to a case manager in protective services. She worked in child welfare for 12 years and assumed many roles and positions while working in the field. Nicki worked for 6 years as a manager in the Hillsborough County, Florida court system. She recently worked as a housing and employment specialist with homeless youth ages 18-25 in Montgomery County, Maryland and is currently a Program Manager for a permanent supportive housing program in Washington, DC.

Nicki is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in clinical psychology. Her passion to support others in their time of need and on their journey to achieve social and self-awareness, keeps her focused on the work she loves. Her passion allows her to persevere and continue to pour that passion back into her community. It is her thought that individuals can gain confidence with the right resources and knowledge.
